Space organisms caused red rain? Has anyone heard anything about this before? I never knew it once rained red in India, let alone that it was some organism that caused the color.

It's fascinating, but I think there's very little chance this has anything to do with space organisms. The Wikipedia article is balanced.

Yes, I've run into this before. I didn't know that the (possible) cells are (possibly) capable of multiplying, though. Thank you for the link. Looks like the situation isn't too dire if they only reproduce at 121ºC: Have you seen "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"? Pretty neat movie. I'm kind of partial to the 1978 remake.
