Artist Randall Rosenthal carves sculptures from wood. The results don't much look like wood at all.
That's almost hard to believe. Man...the things some people can, and will, do. Wow.

I like that he includes photos of some of them in progress. Otherwise I'd have trouble believing it, too.

(view the largest image--yes, that's one solid piece of wood. It's at the Renwick Gallery here in DC, and I've seen it several times--you can get right up close to it)
