Anyone else use LoseIt! for the iPhone? I know the larger MeFite community was using Daily Burn -- does that have similar functionality? Low-key diet talk inside.[More:]I could swear I don't care about the numbers, but DAMN am I gaining weight, too quickly for my closet's liking. (I guess there really is something about being fat and content in a good relationship. Way too much Ben & Jerry's!) So me 'n' the boy are both trying this, and on day 3 or so it's going pretty well.

I always said I wouldn't count calories, but I think my biggest problem has been the mindless eating, even of mostly-decent food (or food that masquerades as such). Thus far, I've actually only eaten stuff that's close to my normal diet, albeit without the giant cookie at Noodles or the extra dollop of sour cream on my enchiladas at home. I think the aspect of having the specs right in front of me, along with making it a game that I can "win" every day, might just trick me into playing along.

Of course, this will all go to hell when we go to the Minnesota State Fair this weekend *giggle*
I used it for awhile; it was interesting to see the general calorie trends. Like, apparently french fries are about 20,000 calories and I shouldn't eat them every day. WHO KNEW?

Ooh, I do. I finally got into the right mindset for it (I think what made it click was an article I saw...recently? Somewhere? About how weight loss is like a video game.) and LoseIt makes it really easy.

I usually enter my food for the day in the morning - putting it in makes it seem like a plan, and I rock at sticking to plans. Plus, it means that if I want to have a piece of pecan pie, I have to go in, add that, and see what else I have to remove in order to eat it.

The particular feature I like right now is that when you enter your daily weight, it recalculates when you'll hit your target weight.

So, LoseIt, together with RunKeeper, make the whole thing a little more data-oriented, which the geek in me likes.

Hopes it keeps going well for you.

Oh, TPS, I know. We go to Qdoba all the time [it's like Chipotle, for those of you who don't have one nearby], and while I knew that those burritos were crazy, I didn't know just how crazy. Like, you think you're being all healthy by getting the veggie one with black beans and fajita mix and all, and it's 1400 calories! And 700 of that is just the tortilla and rice!

So unless we find adequate substitutes, our relationship with poor Hector, the awesome manager, may take a hit :(

Yeah, even though I'm not tracking anymore, it helps me make better choices. Less fried stuff, less cheese, more veggies!

Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but I used this Daily Plate site (there's an app, too) with great results for the month or so I was able to maintain it.

Protip: Don't go to Claim Jumper. Ever. Don't even walk too close to one.

As a follow-on, I'd be interested to hear whether you (generic/collective) prefer LoseIt! to Daily Burn (or v-v) or something else and why. Time to lose the Buddha.
