strange as angels [More:]

Today as I was coming back from a bike ride, I cut across campus. Some newly-minted freshmen were playing volleyball in front of the dorms, and blasting "Just Like Heaven" (the original 1987 edition) from their ipod boombox.

that song probably came out five years before any of them were born. I remember blasting it from my state-of-the-art, twin cassette boombox back when *I* was 19.

Nevertheless, it made me smile, and gave me a nice jangly 80's earworm, which I shall now pass along to you.

Enjoy your Sunday!
Haven't heard that in ages, thanks!

Heaven is having a new PC that can actually play Youtube.

Aw man. I listened to the Cure non-stop while I was writing my thesis. Brings back memories.

I love the use of the wind machine on the stiff as hell hair fashions.

I was thinking about this recently, but in regards to Led Zeppelin and folks from my generation (born after 1979, when Zep's last real album came out). Posters, t-shirts and whatnot sell well on college campuses (or at least they did in my day). Heck, Bob Marley died when I was 2, so folks who were freshmen when I was a senior came after his time, and his presence is large on dorm walls.

I miss 80's hair styles. Today's hair styles seem so boring in comparison.
