A Simple Step That Has Improved Things Y'all probably figured this out long ago but I just got it today, so, for other slow learners out there: how to block game updates from appearing on your facebook home page.
Me too. God, it was just so nice to get rid of all those stupid Mafia Wars and FarmVille notices. It meant I was no longer missing realtively interesting updates from friends and family.
I love blocking applications. Applications and people. So nice. And I respect my "friends" enough to only post Farmville updates to the people I play with (using a Friends list set up for that exact purpose).
I have been offered so many farm animals and other farm stuff from relatives. I am sure that Farmville is fun but I just do not want to go there. I have enough timesinks already!
No games = no game updates
Huh. See, that's what wasn't working for me - I'd gone in and blocked all the games and I was STILL getting updates from my friends who are doing Mafia Wars and Frontierville. It was totally annoying but now that I have discovered the tiny hidden x, things are better.
Yup, the single most useful feature on Facebook is that little x that lets you filter the firehose of crap that spews forth otherwise. It's a pity there isn't a 'master blocker' that simply shuts off all those updates once and forever, because I keep having to block more and more things every time a new variant of a game comes out, or they re-name it.
Same here. I'm not interested in the games on FB. I love the fact that I can ignore all the silly games..it seemed that it was the only thing some of my friends did!
Now if only there were a way to block friends of friends' status updates and comments from appearing in my feed .. it's very annoying to see a status and all associated comments from "Y" (unknown to me and not my friend) simply because my friend "X" posted a comment there.
