I think Sysinfo and TheophileEscargot were right: He's a Lurcher. →[More:] At about 4 and a half months, Winston is up to 36 pounds. He's got a very wiry build which backs the greyhound theory. And, of course, he's got that shepherd mutt face. His sight hound characteristics are apparent; he is very attuned to sounds and movement. He's also a natural guard dog and most of the time (unless his puppy playfulness has him hyped up) he is a gentle giant. Our beagle can now walk right under him without hardly touching his belly.

He's got this interesting mix of teh puppy ky00t! and the taciturn wisdom of a much older dog. He is calm much of the time, but when he gets wound up, he luvs to rip stuff apart. (We leave lots of cardboard boxes around for him to destroy.)

Oh... and this evening we heard him growling in the spare room. Apparently he had just awoken from a nap and a boot sitting on the floor next to him scared him.

Yep, and that loveable mug allows him to get away with murder.

Why, just yesterday he discovered the neatest trick: He learned that if you knock the garbage can over outside, there are soooo many good things inside to eat!
