Words fail me.

I know:
Dos Cervezas por favor
Elke spanjaard heeft een snor

It rhymes and means "Dos cervezas por favor, every spaniard has a mustache"

That's surprisingly catchy.

Ah well, we in Europe have these centuries of culture. And we're all very refined and cultured as a result.

Well, obviously not, but sometimes I think that that's an image US Americans have of Europe.

It is catchy.
This clip is not ironical in the hipster sense of the word. But they are somewhat conscious of the inaneness of the whole thing. It's just that for them inaneness and simpletonness is part of having fun; not having a care in the world during the holidays, not having to think.
A foreign culture to metafilter I guess.
I had a colleague who was part of this kind of old school Dutch bar culture. So that's how I know.
I see the point of this "don't overthink when you're trying to have fun" to a certain point nowadays.

In the US, songs like that died out in the late 70s as radio stations became more corporate-minded.
