Of course, Corky's compliment isn't even the biggest event to happen to me this week. That would be this murder that happened a block east of us. Later than morning, not knowing what happened, I was walking pips to the subway when were confronted by my landlord's son sitting on the stoop giving us a "The neighborhood's fallin' apart.." speech, the whole next block being cordoned off and the Crime Scene Unit coming the area. The whole nighborhood's been buzzing with rumors and whatnot.

I remember reading that your neck of the woods (Scandinavia) was plagued with biker-related violence awhile back. I hope we don't have to deal with that here.
