Intergalactic tuneage. Scientists have developed the technology and mysteriously chosen you (yes, You!) to select the first song broadcast into space for the pleasure of whatever beings there may be out there. Whaddaya pick?[More:]Granted, this could change daily (or hell, hourly) but today, I'd be mighty pleased to share Rock and Roll by The Velvet Underground with our extraterrestrial friends.
Natural Science, by Rush.

Was just listening to it yesterday (as I often do) and it's just an incredible song, all around. The aliens will appreciate our rhythmic sensibilities especially.

My favorite, of course -- Here Comes the Sun.

Parliament, "Flashlight."

We have to let our new intergalactic friends know that we have the funkiness down in here.

Didn't we already send 'em "Johnny B. Goode"? Stupid ungrateful aliens.

Right now, I would bet that Parachute by Shogo Tokumaru would make alien ears happy.

I was thinking about this the other day after listening to some SETI guy interviewed on the radio. I'd advocate for traditional drumming from 5 continents - it seems like it would convey humanity the most.

That, or Thriller.

The Mothers of Invention - "The Return of the Son of Monster Magnet" The one that begins with the dialog with Suzy Creamcheese.

I believe this song best represents the human condition.
