Here's a picture of me. I'm the one in the middle. In the big yellow dog costume.
→[More:]When I worked at the library, I would sometimes get to wear the reading mascot costume. This fellow was known as "Read-a-Long Cowboy." I did this because I was skinny and could fit in the costume, plus I would say "yes." I also dressed up as a penguin (Chill Out With a Good Book!) and a Prairie Dog that looked like a catfish. The best gig was as Clifford the Big Red Dog.

OH MY GOD. I would love the banana costume.

My dad is kind of obsessed with bananas, and we had a Banana Lady stop by and make a surprise singing telegram visit at his 60th birthday party.

Of course, that was probably the only time she'd ever been told to sit down and be entertained (and slightly weirded out) by the recipient instead of the other way around.
