30 June 2010

Today marks 102 years since the Tunguska Event.
What, no mention on that page of the X-Files episode by the same name?

One of the scariest episodes EVAR of that show.

In 1973, Albert A. Jackson and Michael P. Ryan, physicists at the University of Texas, proposed that the Tunguska event was caused by a small (around 1017 kg to 1019 kg) black hole passing through the Earth. This hypothesis is flawed, as there was no so-called exit event....

Flawed? Maybe not: it's orbiting under our feet, happily gobbling away at the planet!

Come on, haven't most of us experienced our own Tunguska Event?

Oh that thing, how awesomely creepy. I can't believe there wasn't an "In Search Of" on this that scared little me to death. Must of been something of the same 70's Madness Mystery genre.

It's listed here, Orange Swan, as it should be.

Some Wikipedia editors rightly dismiss the importance of listing every TV show tangentially related to a topic.

Me, I've always wanted to become a pop star and tour under the name The Hartunguska Event.
