I've always found this move from Marilyn Manson kinda funny: at the end of a song called "I Don't like the drugs but the drugs like Me", a lady does a gospel-style breakdown of the chorus[More:]

(youtube link to the 30 seconds @ the end of a live performance where she comes in)
Marilyn Manson needs his own Bernie Taupin. He's got the look, the message, the persona, the wits... but not the chops. If he had a great behind-the-scenes songwriter on speed dial he'd have made a Really Great Record. IMO. I mean, "Lunchbox" is a great song, but the rest.....

I think Antichrist Superstar (Reznor-helped) and Mechanical Animals (very Bowie influenced) were fairly good albums, especially the latter.

But yeah he doesn't do his own music and he's a bit dictatorial on top of that so it's all in the guitarists and other songwriters.

And the persona/wits thing, not so much anymore unfortunately :( He just goes around acting like a f'ing idiot. Homie's burnt out.

The funniest part about this for me was that I originally read it as "Marilyn MONROE..."
