dabitch, it's a seriously toxic siphonophore. It made me very nervous to get that close to it, because even dead they can sting the holy hell out of you.

Snorkling in the Bahamas I was chased away from a reef by a teeeeeny but really really angry fish and almost drowned laughing. This photo was snapped as I gasped to the guy with the camera did you get a shot of that attack-fish?. Nope. :/

Wow - gorgeous pictures everyone! I have lots of beach pictures from backpacking trips. These are from last summer on a 45km hike at Hesquiat Peninsula. We did it in a leisurely six days and didn't see any other hikers the whole time. We did however see bears each day. It was great!
