Exquisite Comics? Like exquisite corpse but with daily newspaper comics as the seed image. Anybody interested?[More:]

So, pretty much what it says on the tin: each game starts with the top 1/4 or so of a three panel comic strip (Garfield, Rex Morgan M.D., etc) and the first player draws the next 1/4 down based on that, and then passes only that bit on to the NEXT player, until we have a complete(ly surreal) strip.

I'd be happy to do the organizing and shuffling around of files if folks would like to give it a shot. I think it might make for a fun and weird and different take on the usual EC game.
get Joshreads.com involved. Sounds a lot like the Lulu thing. Mary Worth would be a good seed.

Draw or cut-and-paste? I did a couple of comic strip mashups at Square Root of Minus Garfield a while ago. You could also start with the last Little Orphan Annie comic strip coming up in a couple weeks and see where we can go from there. (Reportedly, Annie's ending is WORSE than "Lost's")

If it's actually drawing the EC sections then I am 100% in. A few years ago I joined in some MeCha EC's and quickly learned the limitations of my computer graphic skills (I am a 15 year CorelDraw novice). I feel that I can pull off good pen and paper much better. What a great idea.

Yeah, I was thinking drawing. I mean, someone could in theory use a more abstract approach but it seems like sticking to the general spirit of black-and-white line art would (a) make it a little more cohesive and (b) make it a lot more approachable for people who don't have a knack for CGI/digital art stuff.

I'd probably be using Comics Curmudgeon as a source for likely strips, yeah. God damn I love that man's work.

This sounds like fun, but for pete's sake the current emcees aren't completed after what, 6 months now? Did I miss the posting?

Nope. They're STILL not done. It's fraaken insane. But hopefully worth the wait. I didn't know I was devoting a year of my life when I offered to run it.

Cortex - I've thought about this quite a bit since you're post, and now I'm giddy. I'll be really bummed if we don't do this. This seems like a concept that people with a wide range of skill sets could participate in.

Also, Comics Curmudgeon rules.

Iconomy, am I supposed to be working on my slice yet? I keep thinking I'm supposed to be but missed the email or something (I guess this is the latest incarnation of my "oh crap, today's the final week of the semester and I forgot to formally drop that class" anxiety).

Hah and I got an email + slice from iconomy (sent several hours earlier this morning) ten seconds after I hit post. Yay!

I am all in.

Okay, let's give this a shot. Slack, I've sent you a slice; notquitemaryann, I'd be happy to get you on that train as well, so if you can get me an email address somehow, that'd be great.

We'll go from there; anybody else who is interested, let me know as well.
