Man on MSN poses as Libresse, gets young girls to undress - when Libresse press releases story, anon commenters laugh at "stupid girls". Dabitch calls Libresse, hears full story, sighs deep sigh. wtf is up with blaming victims people?
Blaming the victim allows some people to feel as though they are smarter than the victim and therefore it could never happen to them.

Libresse, for us XY or US types, is a feminine hygiene product from Sweden (not sold stateside). Saving others the Google.

... thus showing how insecure and unable to deal with an uncertain world the victim-blamers are.

I mean, really, some people's inability to admit their own vulnerability is somewhat astounding.

You know, I never really thought of it that way before, but that makes sense. When I phoned up the press contact I had to shoot out the questions , one of them being "how could they fall for that?" and she immediately shot back "it's not as simple as him popping up in MSN and saying take your kit off, he's very very cunning. An adult might go along with it" and the she explained it's been reported by girls as young as 12, well.... We ended up talking about how frightening it is for teenage girls - or it seems to us - in the world right now, and for the coming generation. Libresse are't just taking out ads to save their own name, they're genuinly concerned.

Lots of arseholes on the internets unfortunately. Many can't empathize with a victim, or see how the situation could unfold.

But good on this company for trying to do something.
