American Idol Finale Who will be watching?[More:]I haven't watched since my friend Mike got kicked off (in the #4 spot), but having watched for the rest of the season, I don't want to miss the two-hour, sure to be ridiculous and bloated finale.
I can't do it.
I picked Mike to go to F3 in my Idol pool, so close. I don't think I can bring myself to watch the finale, the results episodes are always lame and how can they possibly drag out a single announcement out over two hours in a way that doesn't make me want to graw off a foot? It doesn't help that due to the time difference, the winner is announced two hours before the show airs.

I watched the performance show tonight (edited in the UK to remove all the vote stuff). I won't bother to watch the finale (which is shown here tomorrow night) but will check the result online in the morning. If Lee wins I'll be amazed, he was so lame.

But, oy, did Crystal look bad in the dress she wore for Black Velvet. Yes, it does make your butt look big, dear. (I know it's not her fault because the contestants are in the hands of stylsts, but she looked so uncomfortable in that dress and was clearly struggling to walk down the steps in heels and sing at the same time.)

I thought the standard of the finalists this year was poor compared with previous seasons. Elliot Yamin from four years ago is and always will be my favourite Idol finalist ever. I still remember being blown away by him singing "Moody's Mood for Love" at an early stage in the competition - an incredibly difficult and brave song choice which he totally nailed.

I'll be watching, but not entirely of my own volition. One of my best friends, who does not own a television herself, is completely and utterly addicted to AI. As long as she's in town, her butt is parked on my couch ever Tuesday night for the performance. She usually skips the results on Wednesday, but since today is the finale, she is making an exception. I could turn it on right at the end of the show to see the winner and be content with that, but she wants the whole experience, so I will share it with her. It's not like I would be doing anything else tonight anyway.

I remember last year watching the finale with Jason in the laundromat. Poor guy, the laundry was done and he wanted to get home but I made him wait until the result was announced. Kris??!! WTF?

I really think Lee will win, because it's little teen white girls and their mothers that vote and they wouldn't vote for a dreadlocked single Mom. Hope Crystal does, though. LEE CAN'T SING.

Oh dear god, that was the VERY WORST Idol finale EVER.

Worst finale ever for the worst Idol ever.

American Idol is like being forced to view the autopsy report on the corpse of rock and roll.

After performances by Michael McDonald, Joe Cocker, Hall and Oates, Chicago, the barely living Bret Michaels and the almost nearly dead Bee Gees, I would say that jonmc really has a point on this one.

You bet I'm watching. I hope that Kelly Clarkson girl wins!

Oh ffs, that sucked. Also, Bret Michaels has turned into the NASCAR of music, at this point he's getting invited onto shows in hopes of an on-camera crash.

As Adam Lambert said last year, coming second was much better than winning, because he's not then tied into the Idol brand nearly so much as the winner.

msali:not exactly what I meant, but whatever. (also all the artists you mentioned, including Bret Michaels (who, if I must be honest, I'm glad to see survived) are superior to anybody who has ever or will ever appear on American Idol)
