Tkemali Sauce (flickr) A sweet-and-sour sauce from the Republic of Georgia. Purchased from a Russian grocery a few subway stops down from my neighborhood.

Any good?

(I have a hobby of going into immigrant groceries and getting stuff, especially from the condiment, snack, and beverage sections. You and I live in the ideal place to indulge this pastime)

It works very well with fried chicken.

The taste takes a little getting used to, though. The combination of sour plums and spices has never been a part of my diet.

But it grew on me and it totally rocked my takeout Chinese world.
