Anyone familiar with Scott Walker? I just watched the documentary that Netflix is streaming. An amazing musician.
I would have said no, not familiar with him, but then found this. Always loved this song. What else did he do?

My ex-husband had been a huge fan of The Walker Brothers in the 60s, and so we were looking forward to seeing Scott Walker on TV, when he was a guest on Late Night With Jools Holland about 12 years ago.

OMG, he was terrible. Terrible. It was embarrassing to watch.

I love his music, especially his last two albums, Tilt and The Drift. If you compare them to his early works, you'll find that the contrast is just shocking - there's so little left of his voice (I've heard that it's because he had serious drinking problems at one point), you could compare it with a castle in ruins. It's haunting, yet, in some ways still beautiful. But I can totally imagine how awful it might sound to someone only familiar with the Scott from the Walker Brothers era.

Love him. I must say, however, that I haven't so much gotten into his post 2000 stuff so much. But I'm a sucker for the 60s and 70s catalog:

Walker's influence on David Bowie is so evident, it's almost a rip-off.
