I was interested in writing for The Rumpus until I read their "About" section and felt vaguely insulted by it. I don't know if that was their intent, but I felt as if because I'm interested in "pop culture" as well as non-pop culture that I'm somewhat deficient.

Also, the About section is very similar to what I'm currently working as the About section for my new blog, so at least I know what not to sound like.

I can't get close to anything entitled The Rumpus. Not even if they changed it to the Tokus Dominocus.
