Ask MeCha. Why is my cheap thumb drive telling me there's no free space on it when it's empty? It was working fine ten minutes ago!

...cus it's cheap? Ok, kidding - I had one that did that and several (as in manic disconnects and reconects later) it just suddenly worked. Never trusted that thing again. How did you eject it last?

I ejected it by dragging into the trash icon, like I always do. I guess it's just crapped out. Shit!

Empty the trash while the drive is mounted.

I had a similar problem (significantly less free space than it should have), and the trash-emptying thing did it.

Silly fake-deleting that Apple does. Microsoft may also fake-delete things, I don't remember.
