Yay for Pittsburgh math rock!

Oh, I didn't know you were into math rock. Neat!

I'm not really into it specifically but I've always heard that term used about Don. The local music scene is so tiny here that we get all excited when anyone from outside notices a hometown band.

What's a mathrock?
Is it the 7 beats to a measure thing that makes it math?

Yeah, pretty much.

"Math rock is a rhythmically complex, guitar-based style of experimental rock that emerged in the late 1980s. It is characterized by complex, atypical rhythmic structures (including irregular stopping and starting), angular melodies, and dissonant chords."

I love Don C!

The Beatles did that with All You Need is Love.

This may surprise you, but this isn't the first Don Cab post in MeCha history :)

Good stuff, and I'm a fan. Granted, I prefer the Touch and Go era earlier lineup than the more metal-tinged Reprise stuff, but they're a fantastic band regardless. I've got four (I think) of their albums, and I'll pull out the other three from time to time, but even seven or eight years after I bought it, Singles Breaking Up is still in steady rotation in the casa de ufez.

I'll look into that one. Thanks for the heads-up.
