What's the last thing that made you laugh until you cried? [More:]Ghostface Killah on dental hygiene. (audio nsfw)
Well, I just watched a Louis C.K. stand-up routine the other night and my eyes were wet and my stomach hurt by the end of it. That man is horrifyingly funny.

This blog that TPS linked the other day. I laughed til I cried in my office and then I showed it to my daughter at home and we both laughed until we cried.

Watching R Kelly's Trapped in the Closet during our recent move -some friends brought it with them to provide some light entertainment. I really lost it - couldn't breathe for a while. Looking back, I think what's most hilarious about it is the earnest seriousness of the whole effort, juxtaposed with the ludicrous nature of the content. If it were just ludicrous, you'd go 'oh, please.' But because it seems to be so impassioned, it's a riot.

Okay, I just went and listened to JB's link, and more than funny, I found that piece informative. I am going to have my son listen to it and tell him, "Listen, this is Ghostface, not your momma telling you that you have to brush your fucking teeth!" He might actually take up the practice more frequently. Kinda like when we were little kids and OJ taught me the importance of a healthy breakfast. GK can teach my kid to brush his teeth. (just so you understand, my boy has grown up with the Wu ever present in all of its different iterations and media)

In fact I just put it up on the blue so more people could laugh until they cried. Thanks, TPS!

Two nights ago my scene partner's delivery of a line in rehearsal. Is serious play, so we got the not-supposed-to church giggles.

Weird Al's latest album, specifically "White and Nerdy" and "Trapped in the Drive-Thru".

Good call on Louis CK, msali. His latest CD did this to me. Also: Mitch Hedberg.

Watching Trapped in the Closet with Miko made me want to throw shit,
BUT
watching (for the second time) Walk Hard, with Miko was absolutely amazing.

Exhibits:

A."I've been halved really bad!"

B."I love you baby!"
"You're never gonna make it!"

C. "He's gone smell-blind!"

This didn't make me laugh until I cried, but it is delightful nonetheless. I asked my best friend for an email, and got:

oh, my, an emial. well, first of all, it sure is raining here today! it's just coming out of the sky like a big ol fountain of water. did you know they have those in rome? all this water just spilling over and over from the mouths of like tigers and chimpanzees and roman conquerors and shells. there are also a lot of cats in rome. they sit on the ruins all day just watching you. and even more at night time, sitting there like they own these ruins from a million years ago, a whole huge army of cats with big green eyes and feral-looking matted fur. you couldn't take those ruins back if you wanted to, because the cat army is so big and strong. not even the cat massage lady would be able to calm them down; maybe instead of putting troops in afghanistan we should put them in rome, occupy the city and force those cats to all surrender. i mean, those monuments are monuments to mankind's awesome powers, not idols of the Cat King or the Pristess Fluffy. our marines are certainly well-trained enough to fight a good fight in these terrible times. and how terrible they are. corporations don't even have the decency to apologize anymore! and food is just so expensive: i can't even buy a grapefruit for a dime these days. and who even wants a grapefruit anyway? they're so bitter that even uncle rudy wouldn't eat them, and he ate just about everything in sight, which is probably why he died so young, god rest his soul. but i would eat them, especially when they were the red ones like on that commercial. ruby red, they call them, and they're real good with sugar, honey, and a little soy sauce (don't tell anyone about that, they'll all think i'm cracked!). anyway, i guess i should go put the kettle on, it's awful cold and rainy out and some nice tea would sure warm the old bones up real quick. maybe i'll have a green tea, or a black tea. white is pretty good, too, i guess. once i had this tea, it tasted just like a flower! i think it might have been at the mall on route 82. such a nice mall. well, have a nice day!

It was something my husband said while planning on going to Burning Man last year:

Mr. Cupcakes: (excited) I have a cool collapsable canvas bucket I can bring!

Hippie Chick He Was Going With: (annoyed at his wanting to bring all his survivalist gear) No, I don't think we will need it.

Mr. Cupcakes: (crestfallen) Are you sure?

Hippie Chick He Was Going With: (fed up) Yes, we don't need the bucket. I am sure.

Mr. Cupcakes: (being emo) Ok, but if I need it when we get there and I don't have it, I will cry. And with what shall I catch my tears??

Me: *laughing until I burst a vessel*

Might be a "had to be there" moment, but the phrase "And with what shall I catch my tears??" has become a staple in our house.

Thanks, brownpau, now I've wasted my Saturday morning watching MST3K shorts.

That doesn't sound like a waste of a Saturday morning at all!

So I can't recall if I was actually crying, but a number of years ago (maybe 8 actually) I once laughed until I kind of got scared I couldn't stop. It was during This Is Spinal Tap when Marty DiBergi reads a few of the reviews their albums had garnered. The line that set me off:

The review for "Shark Sandwich" was merely a two word review which simply read "Shit Sandwich".

Now I'd probably watched Spinal Tap several dozen times by this point in my life, I have no idea why on this particular occasion that just set me off. Even just reading it now it makes me chuckle.
