Hi LA bunnies!!! [More:]

*waves* Guess what? I am in Studio City! Right now! In a bikini, lying in a lounge chair by a pool surrounded by tangerine and lemon trees, with camellias and roses blooming by the wall, and a little splashy fountain. There's a mockingbird singing from the peak of the garage and every now and again a corporate jet flies over. It's unbelievably peaceful and relaxing, even tho I can hear the city grumbling on outside the garden wall.

This morning the mister even borrowed his uncle's bright orange Lotus Elise to take us out to breakfast at some amazing little crèpe place where they had strawberries the size of my fist!

I know I would miss Colorado and my bikes and wind up hating it here if I had to stay for more than a long weekend, but right now I feel very much like an old school Hollywood starlet.

I am going to be in Hermosa Beach, visiting the family manse, from Ap 15 to Ap 20.

You're likely to be gone by then, right?

Yea danf, we're headed back to Boulder on Monday morning... maybe a road trip, maybe not (mr lfr has designs on a classic 240Z he saw on craigslist here...)

The road between Barstow and Needles (I-40) would be starkly beautiful this time of year, if you drive. . .

Update: tangerines that you pick and eat ripe straight of the tree, while they're still warm from the sun? They taste like what I imagine fruit in like, Oz or Narnia or maybe Valhalla would taste.

Oh lucky you. A Lotus Elise. I remember making it a point to window oogle the Lotus dealership in Hyde Park Austin before it moved north to the paved lands of Research and 183.

240Zs are pretty much free of any electronic engine gibberish; which makes them a car any good mechanic can work on. If your frame size can fit into the 240Z frame size... woo hoo.

danf: thanks for that; i'll mention it to him :)

buzzman: yea the mister is a Mech E by degree and by trade; this would be his first automobile project, tho he's had a thing for the 240Z since he was a teenager. And we're both pretty small and slim, too. We'll see if the guy still has it and isn't the usual craigslist wacknut. *fingers crossed*

I guess I shouldn't taunt you with the plan we had to borrow the Elise for a tour of Mulholland, eh?

also, I now have an irrational, overwhelming urge to go find a taco truck. :P

I so miss Monterey and the mighty DLI FLC...warm fuzzies all over...

FWIW, I've had pretty good luck with CL. Selling, buying, and finding odd filler jobs. Hope the 240Z holds well. Heh/... 240Z sometimes reads as a 24 OZ, which reminds me of my favorite size and type of Germanic and Hollandic brews... The original gangster size beer, the 24 OZ. .

Enjoy the ?bliss? of fresh Cali produce. :)
