cutest damned thing I've ever seen [More:]Just now, as I came into the living room with my coffee, I saw my two cats looking at me from the arms of the sofa I sought to occupy. One on each arm, pointing straight ahead - just like Patience and Fortitude outside The New York Public Library.
Did they allow you to sit without demanding a tribute?

Aww... is this a cats doing cute things thread now?

One of mine has started copying everything I do. I sit at the table to eat my breakfast, he jumps up on another chair and sits at the table. I sit on the couch and put my feet up to watch TV, he sits on the other end of the couch, on his back, with his little feet sticking up.

And the other seems to have decided that the power switch on a power bar is just the best thing ever. She pokes at it repeatedly until it switches on. I think she likes it when the light comes on.

Mine were just in an epic battle over the 1/2 foot of space between my wife's shoulder bag and my backpack leaning against the wall in the corner of the living room. It involved lots of hissing, growling and leaping in the air. They do this kind of thing a lot, sometimes on top of us while we're sleeping.

My cat is just sprawled on the couch being awesome. Little does he know that tomorrow is Flea Goop Day. MWAH HA HA HA!

Man, sometimes my cats will both sit in random spots in the living room and just stare and stare and stare at me.

It's actually kind of unnerving.

You know how bed sheets, when they get worn, will get those L-shaped rips in them? So my favorite sheets are on the bed now, and the top sheet just got one of those little L holes.

Okay, so anyway, Zuzu, my little monster, is about 98% go-go-go. The only time she really calms down and gets normal is when I'm in bed reading. During bed-reading time, she'll climb under the covers and curl up under my knees and purrrrrr. It's very sweet, and it's usually a much needed break from Hurricane Zuzu.

The other night, she was under the covers while I was reading. When she finally had enough, she began stirring and made her way up to my belly to emerge from the sheets. She paused there for a minute and snuffled around. Then all of the sudden I hear this RRRRrrrriiiiip, and Zuzu's little head pops out of the L-shaped hole. She looked around the room, very pleased to find herself above ground unexpectedly, and trotted off.

There's now a 14-inch gash in my favorite top sheet.

Post-surgical Fry is much calmer (although he got hepped up a bit yesterday after I put the screens in the storm door and he could smell all the neighborhood cats). One of his favorite games is to run pell mell into an open paper grocery sack. I think he loves the noise it makes.

He has a good jump to him when I'm throwing toys like mice -- I swear he breaks three feet without a blink.
