Weekend 3-point update [More:]
Friday: my retro nest of tables arrived (same as these, but only £35), followed ten minutes ago by my new rug. The flat is finished! It looks great. Photos will follow at some point, but I really need to clean the patio doors first, once it stops drizzling outside.

Caturday: I need to buy a new suit for something at work so it'll probably be a trip to Romford.

Funday: Housework, laundry, supermarket, football.

What are you up to?
Friday: It's a beautiful day. Relatively unprogrammed evening. What to do, what to do?

Saturday: Goals - (1) remove raspberry bush from old community garden, to replant in new community garden; (2) visit a sugarhouse and restock the maple syrup for the year, and (3) bring 'grownup s'mores' to a friend's 50th birthday party bonfire.

Sunday: Check out the neighborhood Unitarian church w/LT. Maybe get a croissant and coffee at the great bakery nearby. Relax. In the evening, go watch a theatre showcase from a class LT is taking.

Yay - real weekend! At last! It's been ages.

Restarting dating is proving to be more annoying than fun. I may have to stop again.

[The above applies to all three weekend days]

Friday - This lovely weather is sapping my motivation to work. I may have to go for a long walk outside.

Saturday - husband heads to DC for a week, so the weekend is all me and the kid, all the time

Sunday - more of the same. We will be in Central park a lot, I would imagine.

Friday: Evening to myself for a change (mr alto is going out). Planning a quiet one, with books.

Saturday: playing in a local orchestra. Less said about that the better.

Sunday: meeting my chamber music group in the evening, hurrah! The rest of the day will be spent relaxing in various ways.

Friday- Much needed pedicure and manicure. Then, mexican food! Mmmmm, guacamole.

Saturday- A trip to BJs, I think?

Sunday- Poochie Picnic with my pooch, a pal and his pooch.

Friday: Hopefully nothing but watching TV.

Saturday: Long run day, eight miles at least.

Klezmer Concert at the UU church in the evening.

Sunday: Baby shower for two neighbors

Viernes: Finishing up taxes and mailing 'em off, likely futile attempt to knock out some schoolwork, but since it's gorgeous outside, I'll probably take Coya for a nice walk over at the park that has a woodsy nature trail.

Sabado: Work, which is fine since some ungodly odd winter snap is moving in so I'm not going to feel like doing much of anything else anyhow. No plans as yet for after work.

Domingo: Probably do my schoolwork, then maybe have a doggie playdate with a friend and her pup. Might work at the clinic for a couple of hours, but I won't find out until tomorrow.

Friday: Nothing planned for tonight. May try to finish playing Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

Saturday: Going to go pick up my digital camera, which is finally fixed! Yay! Also need to get oil changed in car, and go to local music store to buy the new Drive-By Truckers album. I can do all of this at the same small shopping center that is a usual Saturday destination for us, AND eat at the southern-cooking restaurant that sits in the parking lot. It's a win-win-win kinda day.

Saturday night: Going to the little parking-lot carnival out by the stadium to hopefully shoot pics of the rides and colored lights. (Tried to do this last weekend but got rained out.)

Sunday: If it's not raining (which it may be), work on cleaning up the yard, washing the car, and a few things like that. If the weather sucks, it'll be a "watching movies on the couch" day.

Friday: Going to try and hunt down more Passover food this afternoon. It's been a bad year for that so far. And tonight's the family service for my 6th graders and things are mildly hectic. And I have no idea what to wear! If I didn't have to go to services, I'd walk up to the park w/ my Kindle and sit in the sun and read.

Saturday: working at the store. At least the a/c has been fixed.

Sunday: we have a mock seder at Sunday School. Then I get to come home and do whatever I want! Which will involve sitting somewhere with a book, I'm sure.

Friday: Going to see Walking with Dinosaurs

Saturday: Going to see Avenue Q

Sunday: Going to sleep.

Miko, what are grown-up S'mores?

Tonight I am drilling holes in the trash can that we're using for compost, cleaning my apartment, doing laundry, and maybe getting some work done.

Saturday: TPS has reminded me that I need a pedicure as well. I also hope to spend some time outside, maybe a nice long walk. And of course, the ever-looming work. Saturday night my friends are having the best wedding reception ever after they exchange vows with just their immediate family. They are having a party for all their friends at their house and have specified not to dress up, not to bring gifts, and not to bring booze, but to just bring friends.

Sunday: Work, work, work.

Friday: Work. Lunch out with partners-in-crime from work. Drive home. (ugh) Then - walk the boardwalk with Mrs. IRFH. Last week, we were treated to a show from several passing sea lions who were energetically feeding on the local fish population. Tonight, maybe just a sunset over the Olympics. Then - out for dinner.

Saturday: Assorted maintenance on my parent's house. The biggest job will be to tear down and replace an old iron porch railing that is rusted and dangerously loose. This will involve spending most of the day outside, which will be a treat, because it's supposed to get into the mid-sixties tomorrow. Yeah! If I feel like it, I have a poker game I could go to Saturday night with a bunch of old friends, but I may not be in the mood. Depends on my pain levels. Also, my mother could easily use up my entire daily stock of patience for socializing.

Sunday: Chores. Hopefully, I'll get some time to work in the shop. Maybe get some woodworking done. Probably ought to pick up some groceries and cook up a few meals for next week. Busy weekend, but a good, productive kind of busy, I suspect. Wouldn't mind a good night's sleep in there somewhere, too. We'll see. Stranger things have happened.

Friday: (It is almost Saturday here.) I am desperately waiting for some boilerplate type info from a theatre company for a grant (co-applicants.) They are so disorganized that after 3 emails, 1 phone call and now my agent chasing them, they still have yet to respond. In the meantime, another theatre company has asked if I would like to apply with them. I don't know what to do. Should I take my chances with the other company or wait it out for the idiots who are so slow to respond?

Saturday: In the theatre most of the day, rehearsing with tech. (Sound, projections and lights.) It is not yet TECH rehearsal according to HK vernacular since tech is not leading, but in Canada we would still call it tech. Long day, late night. Hopefully meal out with team after.

Sunday: Good and proper technical rehearsals, with tech leading. We do what tech needs to get it done, which is fine by me because the tech team only has a day or two to get their stuff together. Luckily, my team is good and fast. Also, I have a bit of a crush on a designer. Just needed to share that.

Friday: Seeing my boyfriend who has finally been released from his hellish study schedule (USMLE Step 1). There will be dinner. There will be coffee. Otherwise, it's an adventure.

Saturday: A college friend is coming over to play duets! So thrilled to be playing with someone else again! I also have to talk her out of going to law school.

Sunday: Sushi with *s, casarkos and wolfdaddy. And then I have to go to my brother's birthday party. Woooo!

Friday: About to go for lunchtime walk to get blood moving. After work, just going home and fighting off the effects of being an HSP.

Saturday: working most of the day, which also helps fight off the hsp-ness.

Sunday: another gig in the morning, string recital in the afternoon.

Friday: Just rolled out of bed about half an hour ago after waking up in a panic earlier this morning since I thought it was Thursday and that I was late for work. Fridays are my cleaning day, so I need to get moving on that. I want to see if I can spend some time sitting in the sunshine on my patio today but I need to finish my chores first. New Moon is out tomorrow and so I'll likely be up late watching it on Amazon for kicks.

Saturday: My brother's birthday dinner is sometime in the afternoon/evening and no one has told me what time to show up at my parents' house. I don't think anyone's told my brother what time to be there either. It's going to suuuuuuuuuck, I can tell. But it's also the equinox and so I have ritual plans, which is quite exciting.

Sunday: Start of the work week for me. I'm thinking about taking a few days off at the end of the semester, but I'm also thinking about planning some sort of vacation too. (I have no money for a 'real' vacation, so I'm thinking about just taking a few days and wandering around DC being all touristy and crap.) Before I go to work, I'm hoping I can finish up my school assignments for the end of the week, since I tend to not want to work on them when I get home from actual work.

My life is pretty boring, I know.

Today: "Work" which so far I haven't been doing much of except for the being in my office part. I am a bad employee, it is true. However I am nominating Asheville for the Google fiber initiative and if any of y'all feel like doing that as well please go for it since if it comes through it would be highly awesome for my town AND might end up netting me a job where I'd be less burnt out so, you know, yay!

Tonight an old neighbor of mine is having a gallery opening so I'm going to that and then home early.

Saturday: I am one of the judges for the Science Olympiad - actually, I'm just the timekeeper for the fossils section, but what the hell, it sounds more grandiose to say it the other way. That's all afternoon; perhaps in the morning I can clean the house up and in the afternoon I can take the dogs for a hike in the woods. In the evening there's another gallery opening.

Sunday: Clean the house, do laundry, etc.

Tonight. . .have halibut (fresh in season) and stay home, maybe with a couple Firefly episodes, since Daughter's gf gave us the whole series (she works at a video-game store).

Tomorrow. . .try to go to yoga at the gym. . .I feel like I need it. Tomorrow Night. . .Spring Equinox for my wife's wicca group. . .will go to that.

Sunday. . .yard work, shopping, house stuff.

Apropos of little:
1. Any recipes involving halibut steaks are welcome.
2. Have Rochelle Rochelle stuck in my head on account of getting the whole Seinfeld series for christmas and that episode having been watched a week ago.

Friday: Welcome the 2 yr old twin goddaughters for the first weekend visit this year. Going out to dinner in Reina Mexicana while both my kids babysit the girls>
Sat
I have one patient in the morning clinic, but we've always said we would open up even for one so sticking to it even though we have visit.
then girlie-time! getting my nails and eyelashes done while my mother of the twins gets a facial and eybrow wax as a birthday treat.
Cooking a 5 course meal then for pleasure, some kind of middle eastern lamb dish as the centrepiece.
Sadly, hubbie driving daughter to airport as she's back at Uni on Monday :(

Sunday: Probably the usual seafood lunch on the seafront in what the forecast says will be sunshine here on the South Coast, soooo looking forward to the weekend!

Today: Dealt with Boston traffic all morning, trying to get up the energy to go check out more flooded roads.

Tomorrow: Rawk Band at a friend's house! YEEEEEAH!

Today: Cleaned the bedroom, moved half my clothes elsewhere to make room in the closet. Opened up the house to the fresh air, lay down on couch after beginning to feel a little sick, and now am contemplating what to do next. I'm preparing for the beau to essentially move here and live with me. Awesome.

Tomorrow:
Gonna be even more gorgeous tomorrow than it is today. I have some gardening to do, but the weekend's priority task is to make the home cozy and welcoming for its new family member. Some things on the agenda include basic cleaning and making the office ready to be his space.

Sunday: More of the same. Maybe I'll go grocery shopping and make sure there is tasty food in the house as part of Operation Cozy Home.

danf: we just had a very yummy halibut steak this week that was simple and fast. Rinse the halibut and pat dry. Then rub all sides with 1 TBS olive oil (per steak, assuming an approximately 4 portion steak). Now cover with 1 TBS dry rub (per steak, assuming an approximately 4 portion steak) (approximate recipe for dry rub follows, or as best as I can remember). Refrigerate halibut covered in the oil and spice marinade for at least an hour, if possible. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes in open baking dish in oven preheated to 350 degrees until thickest part of the steak flakes easily and is opaque.

Dry rub: 1 1/2 TBS dried dill
1/2 TBS dried tarragon
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp paprika

Combine ingredients in spice grinder, coffee grinder, food processor, or blender and grind into a fine powder. Makes enough for two halibut steaks of approximately 4 portions, each.

Congrats to stew and her beau on the big move! It's a great time to move to Carolina.
1. I have pretty much finished up my work for today, after having a major push to get most of it done yesterday. Today has been spent tending to household chores. Later on, I have a skype wine date with my bestie in Brazil, I can't wait to sit down and catch up with her.
2. Tomorrow I should probably spend the whole day mulching, but we'll see if it really goes down like that. I kinda feel like laying on the couch and watching ANTM marathons.
3. Sunday is pretty much the same. The weather is great her, and since I live next to a park, I imagine lots of lazy walks with the dog. I'll probably take the camera to get some shots of all the new things in bloom. The poor husband is NOT liking spring, his allergies have kicked in, and so we have been taking walks without him, bummer.

Friday: One wedding on my lunch break, on the steps of the Supreme Court. Ran into anotherpanacea on my way back to work. Three more after work!

Saturday: Gardening! We'll be trapped at home due to a marathon sourrounding our neighborhood, but that's OK, since we need to prepare our beds. Our lettuces are sprouting already.

Sunday: Yup, another wedding, at home.

gaspode--do let me know if your husband would like a behind-the-scenes tour of the Library of Congress. Tunnels! Conveyor belts! Gilded ceilings!

IRFH! When did you get back!?
greekphilosophy! Hiya!

Friday - yardwerk. I got cited for the limbs in the yard that got snapped off during the snow/ice storms in January. Tonight is Kid's Night Out, but we don't know if we can go anywhere because the car decided to up and die this morning. Tow truck and the whole bit.

Saturday - more in the yard - there are a *lot* of branches. Also, kidlets are Daddy's tonight, so I get to watch Kill Bill and put goop on my face and just be silly.

Sunday - subbing for a friend of mine teaching Sunday School. I'm usually just a helper in this class, so I'm a lil' nervous.

Just talked to the shop, looks like the starter went out. *phew*

I've been back on-and-off for a couple of weeks, now. Work has been really slow this week, so I'm bored as all-get-out, and making a real nuisance of myself on the Meta-sites, again. I'll probably be getting busy again in a week or two, so I probably won't have the chance to wear my welcome out too much more than I already have. I'll probably only be a sporadic visitor for awhile.

Friday: WELL, our basketball game just ended (phones didn't ring for a good three hours), and of course my brain cells are in disarray, but I really need to finish and send out something so I can hopefully get it approved by its subject ASAP.

My partner is picking me up in half an hour or so and we're going to his band practice, and I will... knit? Play with their dog?

Saturday: We have to make our picks for what to see at our local film festival next month before the tickets get sold out tomorrow morning! So many choices! Definitely Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Might go geocaching, although the weather has cooled off from the gloriousness of the last few days.

Sunday: I never have a Sunday plan. My partner has to work, so we'll probably brunch and then I'll laze and try to watch all of the stuff on the TiVo. (But I'll probably just play Sporcle quizzes all day.)

And MrMoonPie, I don't have a DC trip planned for the near future or anything, but if I am nice and bring fine baked goods, could I take you up on that tour sometime?

And hi greekphilosophy!

Friday: Waaaaaaay too long at work, followed by fun meeting with the interior designer for ikkyu2's new office, followed by even funner dinner of steaks, roasted baby peppers, and broccoli raab sauteed with garlic and crushed red peppers.

Saturday: Need to go to the post office, which is right next to the weekly farmers' market, so I'm hoping I get up early enough to hit both.

Sunday: I have absolutely no idea. I did not in any way, shape, or form imagine that I'd get everything done today that I did, but thanks to the help of some of the other employees we got a bunch done, so I do not need to go in this weekend, and the house is clean, and I organized a bunch of financial info that I needed to organize, so I might just laze around all day without feeling guilty about it in the least.

Fri- well, I had plans to have dinner with a friend who is moving out of town and then another friend was going to join us for drinks, but there was a mixup with friend 1 and she didnt think we were doing dinner so she went and bought a chicken to make. I told her to shelve the chicken and go out with me, and she said no bc she was going to her in-laws that weekend and would be able to eat the chicken later, and my feeling got really hurt that she chose a $10 chicken that she could have frozen over her friend of 20 years who she is moving away from, so I skipped the whole thing, got home from work around 10 pm, and then cried all night.

Sat- I don't know what to do. I want to do something fun but almost all of my friends are out of town and I am really low right now. I have absent bf's car, so I was going to try to take it to an outlet mall or a real supermarket or Ikea or out into the sticks to hike, but I have a serious lack of energy and am sad that I can't find anyone to take with me on these things.
Later I am supposed to see an old roommate, don't know what we will do yet.

Sun- having brunch with 2 friends who I haven't seen in a while, then maybe going to see my best friend's new apt (he is moving to brooklyn this weekend) if there is time and if he is actually here yet.
Then bf gets home at night!
I had all these cool secret plans to fix up some stuff in his house, and I got his favorite but completely worn through shoes resoled, but the shoe place was closed by the time I got out of work yesterday and I don't know if I have enough energy to shlep the hour-long commute when it is not actually a work-day.

Foo: The damned car *died* in the parking lot after dropping Older Boy off at day camp. Tow truck and get the hub to pick me up.

Bar: I called the car place, and not only did they not call me, but the starter motor is out and they won't get one in until Tuesday! So we're running two separate households on one vehicle

Total foobar: Snow all over the yard this morning, blood-freezing wind cutting through the yard. No yardwerk today.

You gotta be kidding me The materials for the Sunday School class I'm teaching tomorrow are in the car.
