Top o' the mornin' to ya
Let the wearing of the green commence! And let us dye our beer green!

Hey, I wore green today by chance - forgot it was St. Pat's. Too bad I chose not to wear my new Celtic swan ring today.;-)

Happy Saint Pat's, everybody! It is also my wedding anniversary today (ironic, since neither the man nor I are even a LICK Irish). To celebrate, after work we are taking a class on organic gardening tonight.

Happy St. Patrick's. It always sneaks up on me in Northern New England - in NJ it wouldn't be possible to forget St. Patrick's was coming, but up here, despite the noise in Boston, it is.

My mom always puts on a nice meal for St. Patrick's - potatoes and corned beef and soda bread. One year I made Guinness beef stew. I miss celebrating like that.

I dropped the baby off today into a classroom of little green toddlers. It was very cute.

Something's wrong with me. I'm half-Irish, but I don't like Celtic music or Irish food.

I do like beer.

Today is going to be a good day! I've got some freelance business to take care of, and then I'll be causing trouble in the east village.

I think I'm due to finish work around 2ish. I'm a go for a run in this beautiful weather and then stop into my local (which happens to be an Irish bar) for a pint.

I didn't even remember, but I just checked and am actually wearing a green tank top today. Go me.

I actually hate corned beef. But I like the rest of it. it's OK because corned beef is really American anyway.

Corned beef is faux Irish?

*spits*

Pah! Only authentic Irish cuisine will pass these lips on this day!

And now, back to me Lucky Charms.

I am wearing my mom's green sweater today.

When I was at a friend's party many years ago, some drunk boy party crashers kept saying over and over "Top of the Pornin' to ya!" and laughing like it was the funniest thing anyone could ever come up with.

So that is all I think about on St. Patty's day now.

I keep trying to talk with an Irish brogue, but I just end up sounding like a pirate. Actually, a Scottish pirate that says "Top o' th' mornin' to ye. Arrrrgh."

Top o' the Mourning... have a gothy St. Pat's. Or don't.

God, just leave me alone. I'll be in my room listening to Bauhaus covers of Tommy Makem songs.

La Feile Padraig to all! and it is either:

Paddy's Day
or
St Patrick's day,

no other contractions accepted (in Ireland that is, I'm aware in the USA the say St Patty's, grrrr!)

I didn't remember it either until I heard it on the radio when I was out running a couple errands. Oddly enough I am wearing a shirt with a green stripe in it; maybe I remembered subconsciously.

Keep forgetting I've got a four-pack of Kilkenny in the fridge (a change from my usual Guinness). Maybe I'll crack it on the weekend.

But CBC 2 radio is playing a Great Big Sea concert right now, so there's that.
