Ask MeCha. I have a 19-inch flat screen tv/dvd player that I don't want. It's less than a year old, works great, I just don't need it. What charities might want it, do you think? Or for that matter, do any of you want it, and live close enough to Maine to come get it?
I tired to give a working TV to Goodwill and they weren't interested (they get lots of duds). Craigslist will probably make short work of it, if CL is active in your neck of the woods.

I'd say you may want to talk to women's shelters or the children's ward at a local clinic. They would appreciate it much more than a person who has these things and is acquiring your player as a 2nd player or a spare.

We gave ours to the local art museum (Grants Pass Museum of Art) and they use it all the time. With a dvd player it's even better.

End of Story: the local soup kitchen/shelter wants it. Thanks all.
