Metachat algebra cheering squad - round two! You guys were so helpful last time I panicked about my algebra class, maybe you can help again?
[More:]I know a math teacher through my gym and she offered to help me out with my algebra questions. The problem is, I don't know how to use her time well.

I've already read explanations of how to solve all the problems that confuse me, so what should I ask her to do - to help me?

To start I have written down a bunch of problems that stumped me. Any other ideas about how best to use her time? I'm not super skilled at asking for help.
Bring your tests and homeworks so she can see what you get wrong and try to establish patterns or holes in your knowledge. The more the better! (This is what I do with all the kids I tutor, regardless of subject!)

If you know of a certain area you need help in, like adding multi-variable equations like yoru last problem or something, then tell her that and she can explain it in a (possibly) new way.

To elaborate on that- it is ok if you don't know what to ask for help in; most people don't see patterns when just doing one test or exercise, that is why it is helpful to get a 3rd party to look at a bunch of data together. Being familiar with the question categories and knowledge you'd need to answer each one, she'll be able to see where you need help more than you will.

If you know what's coming later on in your class, you might try to get some advance pointers on those topics.
