I Am A Thousand Years Old: So I asked by a friend to come up with a mix CD of the best, bounciest, danciest pop-est music for her party. I don't really listen to dance music. Help?

It's called "Big hair, big booty, big fun" and she gave me list of "like this" stuff, your Beyonces and Lady Gagas. What else can I pop in that would actually make a dork like me dance or some awesome back catalog - out of nowhere tracks to mix it up a bit?

Also this will be a very lady-heavy event, and said friend is partial to the female-empowerment end of the dance/pop genre.

In the BhBbBf realm: maybe Kylie Minogue? If not the original tracks, there are boatloads of good remixes if you want to dance, and many of such remixes are floating around the blogosphere.

It's not officially out yet, but Javelin's album No Mas is loads of fun. Definitely more in the realm of "out of nowhere tracks," featuring some distorted vocals, 8-bit sounds, a bucket of weird samples, and plenty more. I'll have to think about other things.

On preview - take both selections with a dose of salt, as they might not be so female-empowerment-focused.
