PC game controllers? So I'm a PC gamer, and I just got Mass Effect 2, and I'm having a very difficult time with the mouse acceleration that you apparently can't turn off.→[More:] This isn't the first game with this difficulty, just the ONE I WANT TO PLAY THE MOST.

Would something like an Xbox controller help me? If so, could I use it for all games? Are they all just plug-and-play USB, or do I need special other stuff (hardware or software) to us them?

I used to have a USB controller that worked great for certain driving games, which were the only games I couldn't manage with the mouse and keyboard.

I know it's just because I literally grew up playing games on the PC, but controllers befuddle me. It's one reason I've never really made the leap to console gaming.
