I have never had pho. They don't have it in WNC. I am saddened by this.

I had it for the first time last autumn with Jon & Pips in this fabulous little Vietnamese place in Chinatown. It was amazing.

I am deeply saddened for all the people who have not had pho. Or, indeed enough pho. I grew up eating it, due to the completely random Vietnamese population in my otherwise pretty ethnically homogeneous hometown.

Now I want pho.

My daughter and I have been going to the same pho shop so long that they don't even bring us menus anymore. She started going at 2 1/2 or so (she's 14 now), learned to use chopsticks there, really has grown up on the stuff.

I was going to make a lame joke that the perfect name for an internet café/Vietnamese restaurant combo would be iPho, but... beaten.
