Snow Snow Snow! I know for those of you in colder climes this would be no big deal, but we have 6" (15cm) of snow so far, and it's still coming down...
Yeah, snow day here too! Dogs are all sacked out around the house after roughhousing in it since the wee hours.

I may not have to go to work on Monday, considering how bad the infrastructure is down here for dealing with winter precipitation. Crossing fingers though, that the power doesn't go out. It's turned to sleet/ice/freezing rain at this point, which is bad.

"it" meaning the snow, not the house.

I live in Stew's neck of the woods. The snow is pretty darned impressive. The dog is hugely ambivalent (mood swing-type ambivalent) about the powdery white stuff. At first she wouldn't even leave the porch to step into the snow. Then she spent about ten minutes bounding around like a gazelle (I think she was trying to keep it from touching her underside). Then she bounded back on the porch. Then she freaked out and jumped back into the snow, shoving her face into it, huffing and snorting, followed by sneezing and hacking. Then she took it up a notch and started jumping around in circles and drooling. That's when I decided it was probably time that we went back inside and had a little bit of quiet time. Now the dog is passed out, but I am going to insist upon a command performance later on, because that was quite a funny performance.
Few things on my "gosh I wish I would have bought that yesterday" list: cheese, wine, sauerkraut.

My list: eggs. I have three left is all, which is only enough for one more pan of Dutch Babies.

Note the tastiness:

We have eight and a half inches here. Whooo. I'd be more into it if we hadn't just done this in December. Two big snows in one winter is unheard of.

We had a very light dusting of snow here today, most of which has now melted.

Huh. We barely have any snow at all in Toronto - just a bit dusted in patches here and there. Kind of surreal, no?

Yay for NC snow! I work on the weekend and have snowdays for today and tomorrow. Of course I'll be bummed when my paychecks come, but for now I'm enjoying watching kids sledding down the street while I'm tucked up under an afghan watching Flight of the Concords and rereading Harry Potter!

Glad y'all are having fun! Even though we get a lot of it, I still think snow is beautiful and a real treat. Enjoy cozying up inside and playing outside!

Incredible! We're not all that far away and yet we just got a little rain. (Not that I'm complaining.) My brother lives two hours north of here in Tennessee, and got a lot of snow, as well.

I tried to make a snowman, but it's too cold outside. It's not packing snow yet.

Snow.

I'm in Stewriffic's neck of the woods also. I'm very happy I had nothing planned today. Sitting around, digging through some old boxes of comics. I may stick my nose outside and go for a little walk in a bit and then get started on cooking some chicken stew.

ummmmmmm could you email some of that snow to me ? we have the olympics coming up in 2 weeks and theres no snow on the local mountains where a couple of the events are happening

I can upload it. But it's turned into sleet here.

MGL: Awesome photos! I especially like tree on ridgelawn.

Snow day here in Arkansas too--second day in a row the library's closed due to weather. I'm dogsitting for a coworker, and haven't left her house since Thursday night. I should've bought more food, beer, and books.

This is why, even though I live in the middle of a major city with excellent clean-up crews and I am mere STEPS from not one, not two, but THREE delis/markets/major stores - I still shop as if I'm expecting a siege at any moment.

I blame zombie movies.

Meanwhile, it was 40°F and lightly raining at my house in Alaska. Bought eggs and made Dutch Babies following Stew's recipe. Yum!

Yay, snow! We've got about five or six inches of fine, dry powder. I got to wear my seldom-needed snowpants, and trekked five (!) miles down and back to a shuttered town today, walking in the tire ruts in the road. It was glorious! My eyelashes and month's worth of beard froze up, and I pretended I was MacReady in The Thing. I'm gonna bring road flares, next time.

A foot of snow here. Thank goodness it's light - if we get snow at all, it tends to be wet and heavy.

It's really fun and pretty, but my show tonight and tomorrow are cancelled, which means I don't get paid.

Still snowing!

Also, I need to get down to a Raleigh/RTP/Durham meetup one day. It's only three hours.

Stewriffic - amazing to see that the English Yorkshire Pudding recipe (traditionally served with roast beef) has transformed into Dutch Babies over here! Apparently, the recipe is now the subject of scientific research, as the Colorado mountain air seems to make the recipe fail.
And yes, it's snowing in Philadelphia as well ... only an inch or two here as yet, but looks like it is setting in.

Just looked outside. I haven't checked in about two hours or so, but yep, we got snow, too. Looks like just an inch so far, but it's still coming down. Damn. Need milk.

rainbaby: mi casa es tu casa if you ever decide to come down!

susurration: yeah, basically substitute butter for the beef fat and it's the same thing, but served sweet. Also see popovers.

Man, between broken computer and no internet at home and being snowed out from work I've been actually having internet withdrawal.
