Edmund Blackadder turns 55 today. OK, actually it's Rowan Atkinson who's having the birthday. And BTW, Mr. Bean is the new president of the European Union.→[More:]

Oddly, if you'd said that he was turning 65, I'd not be surprised. Betcha Rowan wouldn't be too happy to hear that, so please don't tell him, ok?

I still love to watch the Blackadder series. Mr Bean I've never really been able to connect to.

Mr. Bean is sometimes too cringe-inducing for me, which Blackadder never is; but then again, the very best Bean bits can double me over with tears in my eyes, which Blackadder also never manages.

Well, OK, maybe a few tears at the end of Blackadder Goes Forth, but that's not what I meant. Besides, it was just something that got in my eye, anyway.
