My cat is in REM sleep but her eyes are open and it's kind of freaking me out.
Time to get out the camcorder.

Mine does that a lot.

That is freaky, indeed.

Lucy does that too. Bailey just snores.

Heh, she was also snoring. Which is how I figured out she was asleep and not having a seizure of some sort.

If I had any doubt, I'd just give them a shake. It's not like they wouldn't be able to catch up on the sleep, leaving them tired at work.

OH MY GOD, AN REM SONG JUST CAME ON MY INTERNET RADIO PLAYER!!

Your cat and I are so in-sync, it's creeping ME out.

Aw, poor snoring kitty. I like it when their whiskers start twitching madly.

One of my cats (a former feral) reacts very badly to being disturbed in his sleep, I once tried to gently rouse him out of what looked like a kitty nightmare and he awoke clawing and spitting; took him a minute to recognize me and calm down. Now I avoid waking him at all costs which is sorta difficult because he sleeps on my desk a few inches from my elbow all day (the orange cat in the pic).
