Kahala! Kahala owns a bunch of fast-food franchises. Ranch1, Rollerz, NrGize, Wafflo, the list goes on. For some reason, I think this is all pretty funny.
Agh! Crazy mark-up on a wet soggy food nobody actually likes to eat? Sounds awesome?
No wonder I'm not rich. (I never would've thought people would watch other people play cards nor golf on TV, either, so clearly I lack entrepreneurial vision.)
other cereal shops have gone out of business (there was a place on the Food Network a few years ago that now doesn't exist) but this doesn't stop people from running with the concept, evidently.
The Cereality chain has all of 7 locations, 6 'inside Cold Stone Creamery' and one at the Dallas/Ft Worth Airport. Not setting the world on fire, but of all of Kahala's properties, only Cold Stone and Blimpies seem to have more than a handful of outlets. Clearly pales beside Yum! Brands.
I have never heard of any of these except Blimpie and Cold Stone Creamery.
Speaking of Yum brands, I have never been to a Long John Silver's. I find this kind of odd since Long John Silver's has been in my town since I was a small child and I am no stranger to fast food. I did love Arthur Treacher's when I was little. It's now long gone.
I went to Cold Stone Creamery once. Their menu is so cutesy-precious I wanted to stab someone with an ice cream scoop which is not a traditionally stabby implement but I was just that horrified.
Wow, I had no idea that Cold Stone Creamery was that dorky. Good thing I'm lactose intolerant.
Seriously though, who LIKES these cutesy kinds of interactions? Everyone I know is embarrassed when they have to order something like "Cookie Doughn't You Want Some." If someone SANG when I tipped them, I think I'd slink out of there and never come back.
