Everybody I meet from Indiana is super nice, kind, and friendly. [More:]Is Indiana the nice state, or what?

Granted, I've only met two people from Indiana, but still.
Well everybody named Lori from Florida that I have ever known on the Internet have been very kind and nice.

Is it too small a sample to generalize?

haha, thanks.

A man (and dog trainer, imagine my luck) from Indiana helped me capture my dog today. He was visiting his family who live in my neighborhood. He reminded me so much of my other neighbor's father from Indiana. Both are very swell.

I wish to meet more people from Indiana to maintain my bias.

I've had a dozen or more really close friends from Indiana, and without fail they were all super-nice folks with a very twisted sense of humor. The midwest seems to give a person a deep appreciation of the absurd.

I'm not from Indiana myself but I lived there for a longish time, in Bloomington. And yeah, they were all pretty nice.

I have an Indiana magnet, but I have never been there. I knew a guy from there, though. He was nice, but weird.

I spent 3 weeks in Indiana in 2007. On reflection, I'd say that everybody I met seemed pretty nice. It surprised me how Southern Indiana was - I was 'ma'am'-ed a lot, and the accent borders on Southern. People were generally pretty polite and friendly in a Midwestern sort of way. The residence hotel staff where I stayed was pretty good about going out of their way to be super-pleasant, and all the museum staff I met were, too.

Welcome to the midwest. The only difference between this and NYC is that in NYC when they hate you, they tell you, but in the midwest they hide that behind a smile or just silence. I haven't yet decided, over decades, which approach I prefer.

I think the most interesting people from IN were Cole Porter and Kurt Vonnegut. Kinsey was based at IU, too.
