Hi. We're almost done. Before/After inside.

With our kitchen remodel. We have a backordered pantry door, and still have to install tile backsplash & some storage rail thingys, but everything else is in & operable. We had an open house in our bldg last night & everyone sat where they felt like they wanted to & it made me happy. :)

So did you do away with the glass blocks, or are they out of the angle on the new pics?

Thanks. The glass blocks were unharmed in this project. Everything to the left of the existing column was obliterated.

Oh wow, that is fabulous. I can't wait for my new floor to be done (some time in January) and then I can post my before/after pictures.

Thanks everyone! I designed it & did everything but the plumbing/elec & sheetrock. Well, and the countertop was installed by muscley people from the Czech republic who were the coolest guys ever. Both countertops are seamless b/c I stayed within the 114" length limit, so I was really happy with that.

dhartung, steal away. Let me know if you need any help - I did one for a woman in Arlington VA a few weeks ago, so distance isn't a problem. BTW, IKEA is perfect for rental properties. There's a 25 year warranty on their cabinets alone.

ZOMG ladder tree!! why did we never think of this?! the mister just looked at these pictures and went from Scrooge McCrankypants to "gee we need a ladder tree, too, do you have coloured lights?"

also, we're thinking of doing something similar to the kitchen here. I hope you don't mind if I steal your colour palette!
