I was so sad to hear this! He wrote one of my favorite scary flicks ever, Dead and Buried, which included Jack Albertson's last screen role (and he was awesome in it). Unlike a lot of horror fans, I didn't (and still don't) care for the mix of comedy and horror that O'Bannon introduced and that still plagues scary movies to this day. But I love that he kept trying to do different things with the genre instead of just cranking out the same ideas over and over. RIP.
