Asheville Snowpocalypse! Ten inches of snow and counting. [More:]I haven't seen this much snow (those are my pictures) since the blizzard of 93. So I have all the space heaters jacked up high - all I have is electric heat - and the bathtubs filled with water; the phones are charged and the flashlights and candles found. Anything else I need to do in this snopocalypse?
Enjoy!

It started here about five today. Pictures from me tomorrow or the next day. A rare snow event for sure. Anyone else? NC/VA/MD/DC bunnies? Um. . .DelMarVa? Philly?

I am so totally stoked I am bouncing off the walls when I am not out bouncing in the snow.

I hate this. I am in New Jersey. My birthday party is tomorrow and I don't even know if I'll be able to get there.

I love ≡ Click to see image ≡. If you need heat, come on down to the flatlands.

Happy birthday, amro!!! We were supposed to ride the train in New Hope tomorrow, but they (fortunately) agreed to change our tickets. SO BRING IT ON!! I've got three different kinds of cookies and lots of hot chocolate. I am so ready. (The only thing I don't have is mittens for the boy. His hammy little hands are too fat for baby gloves, but his fingers are too stubby for big boy gloves. Poor little chunk.)

Do you have a radio that runs on batteries or crank? Good idea to have one around. Also - analog phone in case power goes out and cell phones don't work.

It actually just started here about 30 minutes ago. Cars and the parking lot already have a wee dusting, but they're covered alright. Our snow plowing company already made a stop earlier today and dropped off salt and their snow blower under my stairs.

This is my first epic big storm living alone. I'm a wee bit scared, to be honest. But I've got plenty of food and blankets and stuff. As long as the power stays on, I'm good. (I don't think the power will go out though, not like the ice storm of 98? I think? where we lost power for something over a week or so. That was some ridic shit.)

Snow, you say?

The snow here was not as bad as predicted. The problems over the next few days are more likely to be caused by ice.

Also, a friend sent me this and my first thought was mygothlaundry.

And that was only halfway through the snow! We've got twice as much as that now. I managed to wake up with a bad cold, so I'm less enthusiastic, and my brother and aunt have no power, so they managed to make it over here. I just hope the whiskey holds out.

About a foot of snow, still snowing. Everything CNX today. Yay, funny snowstorm! Especially for December. It hardly ever snows in December around here.
