White Elephant, or Dirty Santa, or Pollyanna, or be lucky enough to never have heard of such craziness. Here's how to play.
1. I will start by choosing the first gift and "unwrapping" it by clicking on the
Random Gift Generator button on the right-hand sidebar of this website,
(WARNING: RESULT MAY NOT BE SFW).
2. As people enter the thread, they should also "unwrap" a gift.
3. Once you have unwrapped your gift, you have two options: (
A) If you like your gift, you can "keep" it...for now. Post a comment to let us know what you got and whether you're keeping or swapping.
(B) If you
don't like it, you can look upthread and swap your crappy gift for my awesome gift, or for any other gift that someone else already unwrapped. Those poor schmucks don't have a choice in the matter.
4. Unwrapping and swapping continues as long as new people enter the game.
5. At some arbitrary point, I will declare the game over and no new gifts will be "unwrapped." The person who goes first gets the liberty of swapping for any gift in the whole group.
6. If it's fun we can do it again.
