Yeah, that's some nice crib. I'd lose the chandelier and some other items of furnishing, and I'd prefer it in the Italian Alps rather than the often-creepy Switzerland... but, yeah, nice crib.
What's really smart is that they're so close to other houses, but their window and patio view blocks the view of those houses out. That's damn smart design, right there.
I love looking at pictures of Dwell Magazine type houses like that but I'd hate to own one. I'd hate to have to get a contractor to come and fix the roof or re-wire. Those placed have to be a bear to work in.
I love this. Just look at the intent that went into this. The entrance is shaped so that you get the full view and plenty of light, but most of the neighboring houses are obscured. I bet it has excellent thermal insulation, too.
Just need to convince the missus that this is something we should do.
It is lovely, but it has features I dislike - those horrible stone steps you can see in the picture BP linked above, and there's another two staircases which look just clunky beyond words.
The one in this picture, for example, I would replace with a light, open-tread stair.
I wouldn't be surprised if the wooden steps were drawers or shelves actually in the top image - but yeah in the bottom image those concrete ones look ouchies.
