I do a very, very modest dumb-bell workout a couple of times a week.
I think he's going a bit over the top, but there is something to it. Doing a bit of physical exercise or labour does help your mind too. Doing tasks or hobbies where you can achieve and improve concrete goals: that's good too. Plus there are health and aesthetic benefits if you don't overdo it. So, um, yeah. Give it a go.
