I would love to see the original context of the 9/11 is a joke line considering Fear of a Black Planet came out nearly 20 years ago.

But everyone knows that Duran Duran's cover of 911 is a Joke was actually about 9/11. Because 911 isn't the emergency number in the UK. And Duran Duran has a time machine.
