Oh goood night this is funny.

Big Laura fan here. I often think of the depictions of these really simple Christmases in her books. Like the one where they went to church and got charity presents, and Laura got a brown cloak with red trim and red mittens. Or when Pa got stranded in the big blizzard with their Christmas presents, and survived by holing up in a snow cave and eating all the oyster crackers and horehound candy.

Happy as I am to have so many comforts of modern first-world life, there is something amazing about the clear, powerful memory of such small things received with such great appreciation.

I was amused to see Amazon suggest Reindeer Pooper Candy Dispenser at the bottom of her list.

Also, after seeing her respond to John Hodgman's Twitter, I started looking through his feed and holy crap, does he just have a Twitter chip hooked directly to his brain or something?
