28 November 2009

Radio is on now. It's the "o hell damn BoringPostcards can't get his machine to broadcast so I will" edition.
Kicking it off:
George Harrison - Here Comes The Sun
The Acorn - Strange Animal
Nick Lowe - Cruel To Be Kind

Hello late night, early morning folks!

or mid afternoon friends in a different timezone! ;)
posted by jonathanstrange 28 November | 00:56
Gah. I have no idea why I can't broadcast but it's pissing me off.

Also, either Social Distortion have only one song, or all their songs sound alike.
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 00:56
Yeah we need to get that sorted out.
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 00:57
(the broadcast thing not the SD thing)
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 00:57
You have the patience of a saint, arse_hat... not venting at you, just nearby. :D
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 00:59
Yeah, I think the SD thing may be fairly intractable.
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 00:59
Lunachicks - The Passenger
Social Distortion - Ball and Chain
Wilbert Harrison - Goodbye Kansas City
Dee Dee Sharp - Mashed Potato Time
Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes - Don't Leave Me This Way
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 01:02
And now you play one of my favorite songs. Toy with my emotions, why don't you.
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 01:03
"I think the SD thing may be fairly intractable." I have this friend; yeah, she'd just rip out your throat. :(
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 01:04
I love this song in every one of its numerous versions.

That was more for the group vibe than the music, which is awesome but not at all mullet-attracting
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 01:11
Yes, great fun songs. Olive approves.

Hi jon.
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 01:15
Ooh ooh! Is this off Colin Hay's new album? I heard he had one.

Love his voice.

Barenaked Ladies covering BC from the sound of it.. awesome
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 01:20
I think I like this better than the original
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 01:21
Shep And The Limelites - Who Told The Sandman
Sugar Ray - Fly
Colin Hay - Looking for Jack
Barenaked Ladies - Lovers In A Dangerous Time
Bruce Hornsby - The Valley Road

The Ladies cover had a great video too.
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 01:24
My hubby met Bruce Hornsby once. Said he was a giant.
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 01:24
Here it is. Maybe not as great if you have never spent time in the Toronto burbs...
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 01:26
I have joined the audience just as the theme song for Los Osos Valley Road comes on (we in San Luis Obispo just call it LOVR... yep, we're SLO LOVRs here...)
posted by oneswellfoop 28 November | 01:27
I think the online player isn't synced well with the song title. While the BNL were singing Lovers In A Dangerous Time the site said "Bruce Hornsby - Valley Road". Is my audio a bit behind? Maybe I should open it up in iTunes?
posted by rhapsodie 28 November | 01:28
Love this Joe Jackson... "Night And Day" was a big favorite of mine in high school, and it sounded like nothing else in my collection.
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 01:30
I missed the Man at Work and the Live Nude Girls? Well, it's good to catch the Joe Jackson who didn't beat his kids... Your song selection is impeccable, so I will not attempt to peck at it. I'd tip my hat to you, but you're wearing it on... well, you know.
posted by oneswellfoop 28 November | 01:31
Hi osf.

Loudcity does get out of sync rhapsodie. iTunes may be better.
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 01:33
I don't know if this is a gospel song or a reggae song, but it is my favorite reggae song.

We need box here to educate us because I bet he'd know.
posted by BoringPostcards 28 November | 01:35
"No Women" is another song I love in all it's iterations. box should be here.
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 01:35
and so should richat as I have a song just for him coming up in a little bit.
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 01:36
Can't seem to get it to play in iTunes, so I'll stick with the site stream.
posted by rhapsodie 28 November | 01:37
As long as you are here all is good!
posted by arse_hat 28 November | 01:39
"No Woman" is another song I love in all it's iterations.

Yes. I agree. Every version I've ever heard was good, therefore it's an excellent song.
