This is just to say: I have deep-fried a crumpet in bacon grease and I am about to eat it.
This is just to say: no matter how clean I keep things, for some reason there are two ants trying to eat my laptop. Maybe I should make a crumpet deep-fried in bacon grease so that I can feed them the crumbs so that they don't starve. Laptops aren't very nourishing.
I had cooked a pound of heritage bacon previously and the pan was thick with fat
Dude, you got to save that stuff for other uses. Add a tablespoon to a pot of long-simmering beans; add to cornbread batter instead of melted butter; use a little bit to grease the skillet when cooking burgers or pork chops. And so much more!
(i keep meaning to make double-pork fried rice. Fried rice with dork with bacon fat added to the oil. It was a popular sunday staple cause you used up the leftover rice from Saturday's Chinese take-away and the bacon fat from that morning's breakfast)
Well, I came here to say that I have swine flu, and I feel a bit queasy at the thought of bacon, but after reading fried rice with dork, I'm getting the heck outta here.
