Also, I have some kind of weird phobia about surfaces with a lot of cavities or tears in them- I've been in rooms with acoustic-tile ceilings that just creeped me out and I couldn't look at them. Some of these pics remind me of those. (I don't like those as much.)
I'm totally with you, BP. That's one of the reasons I find the opening of Dawn of the Dead (original) so effective -- it starts with this abstract closeup of carpet on the wall of a sound/radio studio, and it totally looks like some kind of icky, decaying flesh sort of thing.
I'm totally blown-away by these, and also by the fact that what strikes me as amazingly beautiful in 2D really makes my skin crawl in 3D. Not sure what to make of that.
