Miss Tramp Steamer 1958. . . Ron Felsing, an school classmate of mine, was very geeky before geeky came into vogue.→[More:]

He possesses, or finds, some very amazing photos of "old" Los Angeles.

I had to laugh at this one. I would have hated to be a runner-up for Miss Tramp Steamer! Or, worse yet, Miss Congeniality in the Miss Tramp Steamer pageant.

It's hard not to look at those photos and think it was a more innocent time, though the reality is that it was much more difficult for large swaths of people.

Stiff synthetic fabric with space-age engineering! Pointy boobs were all the rage, and obviously it took a lot of infrastructure (since that is not the natural state of boobs). You can now recreate the look.
