This is what I got without referring checking your version first:

The (*) line is the only one that I'm not too confident about. It matches the sounds I'm hearing but... well, I'm dubious. In the next line, 'town' could be 'down', and there's something suspicious about 'all' in the very last line, because I'm pretty sure I'm hearing a 'd' sound in there - but 'old on fire' doesn't make a heap of sense.

After listening to that enough times to rough out that much of the lyrics, I felt a deep urge to go listen to some Tony Furtado for a while.

I was once at the Virgin Superstore off Times Square, and Nelly Furtado was doing an appearance, with people lined up to meet and greet, downstairs.

From the street level, I craned my neck to see what she was doing and a security guy pushed me back. You had to pay to even see her from a distance, apparently.
