Doctor Doolittle in the Moon I got this book a couple weeks ago for eight bucks. These pictures crack me up.[More:] It seems like he is illustrating random sentences from the book. They remind me of James Thurber too.

I'm kinda curious if anyone else thinks these are so funny, they seemed random and whimsical enough that I though you folks might like them.

I particularly like the expression on the parrot's face in this one. A Terrible Explosion Followed is pretty awesome too.

Two color plates also.

These aren't even all the pictures, there is one about every third page in the book. It is insane.

I hope someone enjoys these.

Self-links of this sort are OK here, aren't they?
I enjoyed these.

I love it, and it also reminds me of one of my favorite books: LARGE et Puffy by Ivor Cutler.

I peeped over a wall and there was Betty,
Bent.

Her friend handed her a brick,
She stood up and used it,
No need to bend anymore.

I raced home and used a brick,
Standing up straight.

You'll never catch me without a brick anymore,
Even at sea.

Those are wonderful! I really like them a lot. What a nice deal for $8. I thought of James Thurber too, and Edward Lear.
